DOWNTOWN MIDLAND -
A MURAL COMMUNITY
The Murals of Downtown Midland: Enjoy thirty-four historic murals in our beautiful Downtown Midland core.
Take a look at the online gallery of all the murals here.
This outdoor mural gallery is a project that started in 1990 by the Downtown Midland Business Improvement Area Merchants Association.
Midland hosts North America's largest outdoor mural and was recently listed in the Ron Brown first edition of Top 100 Unusual Things to see in Ontario released September 17th 2007, Boston Mills Press. Brown labels the murals as a "Giant Outdoor Art Gallery". The mural on the grain silos in Midland Harbour depicts a Huron native and Jesuit priest looking towards the village of Sainte-Marie as it would have looked in the 1640s. It is the largest outdoor historic mural in North America.
